To wrap up our October Oddities: Local Legends of Stokes County mini unit in English and History, our students had a truly unforgettable hour of Eerie Encounters!
We welcomed five special guests who brought local legends and ghostly tales to life:
Kim Boles, ghost guide with Stokes County Paranormal, shared her real-life investigation stories, demonstrated paranormal equipment, and gave students a peek into how local hauntings are researched.
Tabitha Bowman, granddaughter-in-law of Roy, the famous ghost of Chestnut Grove Middle School, told us about her family’s unique connection to one of Stokes County’s most talked-about spirits. As well as other staff members sharing their Chestnut Grove Ghost Tales!
The Grabeman family joined us to recount their spine-tingling experience spending the night at Gettysburg, one of the most haunted historic sites in America.
Our students were captivated hearing how history, folklore, and firsthand encounters intertwine to keep these eerie stories alive. What a perfect way to close out our October exploration of spooky local legends! ![]()
